- our kitchen floors installed
- two coats of stain applied to said kitchen floor
- the trim finished in both the upstairs and downstairs
- all three coats of stain applied to the upstairs floors
- enough time for the stain upstairs to set so we can move things in there
- move as much as possible from the downstairs into the upstairs to make room for the cabinets
- all walls primed
- kitchen painted
- countless other things done I'm sure
On the flip side, some of the trim is up and it's starting to look good.

There is never anything about renovations that moves as fast as is expected. I know the frustration!!! Been there, done that. Chin up! Just think of the valuable lessons you have learned!! Love to both of you, Grammie
We painted our kitchen (walls and ceiling) after cabinets and floors were done etc - not probably as ideal, but if you have decent painters it shouldn't be an issue in terms of mess
a little bit of my experience with refinishing floors - weather makes a BIG difference in timing. Humidity and cool weather slows it down. And each coat needs to be thoroughly dry before then next goes on. My floor guy then wanted the floors to cure for a week before we moved furniture in. Downstairs I compromised with several days. I'm still waiting to get into my upstairs. Last coat went on today (I think) so I should be in by next weekend.
It's worth the wait!
