Round Two

Eternal gluttons for punishment, we went back to Great Beginnings to provide our own economic stimulus to the state of Maryland. Once again we had a really successful (but draining) trip. We now have (ordered) a crib, dresser, glider, and a bunch of other smaller things.

Ze crib. Don't worry, we won't put the wheels on it.

Ze dresser.
And, the glider (we're getting it in a different color and without the ottoman).

We also started to get the room together a little bit.

This is what it looked like on Friday.

And this is what it looks like today. We were busy.

Very nice!

We just took the wheels off Jack's crib this weekend when we converted it to a toddler bed. Are you not supposed to use them for safety reasons or do you just think they are ugly? (which they are)

Love it all!

I second Lauren. We have wheels on Robby/Carolyn's crib. Has been handy when rearranging furniture, changing the sheets, etc. The wheels have locks if we need them.

Lauren and Nikki,

The no wheels comment is based on two things:
1. Apparently it's not recommended on hard surfaces like wood floors. The wheels, even locked, make the crib less sturdy and solid. I guess there have been so many issues with wheels on cribs that the store we purchased the furniture from actually recommends against installing with the wheels.
2. Even if the above wasn't true, we live in an old, crooked house. The contractor did his best to level the floors in the baby's room, but they're still a little sloped. Probably not safe for us to use the wheels regardless.

Thanks for the advice, though; I can see how they'd be convenient.

Are you sure you don't want the ottoman... you are going to be doing a lot of breast feeding and sleeping in that chair, you're going to want to put your feet up:)
