This past weekend we were able to get away for a couples weekend up to Quebec City for Winter Carnival. Overall it was a great time and we're looking forward to doing it with the kids sometime soon.
As you can see from Katie's choice of clothing, it was cold. And the wind didn't help any either.
The Old City of Quebec was dotted with fantastic ice sculptures.
The main part of the Winter Carnival was held on the Plains of Abraham. Most of the things were geared towards kids but we still managed to enjoy it. Not to be outdone by the Old City, the Winter Carnivsl had a snow sculpting competition.

There was also a Ferris Wheel. During the day the line was easily a half hour to forty five minutes long. We waited until night when the line was closer to five to ten minutes. While it was a neat thing to do, we're glad we didn't waste too much time waiting around for it in the freezing cold.
Just outside the wall of the Old City was an ice hotel.
What you can't see is the '80s music blaring in the background. And what better way to end a trip than with a dance party...
