Small Victories

Andy and I spent the day today taking care of various odd jobs at the new house. By far our proudest achievement for the day is the installation of a new-fangled dimmer switch for the dining room. Aided by the advice of our dads, Mike and Peter (whose advice was "Monkey see, monkey do," and "Make sure you turn off the electricity," respectively), we only met with few challenges. This is hopefully one of many successes as we learn the ropes of homeownership.

Behold... the advent of modernization to our old house:

Are you lucky enough to have overhead lights in other rooms? We only have them in the dining room, kitchen and baths. The living room and bedrooms are sadly without them meaning a bunch of floor lamps which really aren't the same...

ahhhhh now you'll have the joy of searching for dimmable florescent lights. Good luck! Oh, and congrats on the new house. It's looking great and I can hardly wait to see more.

(hmmmmm blogger directions look a lot different in Indonesian. I hope I can remember what to enter where) Oh, and let me know if Indonesia (Bali in particular) is on your honeymoon list.
