Ode to an Old Tree
You stood on that curb since the days of yore;
We hated to see you go,
But you were rotten to the core.
How many heads have you sheltered, old tree?
How many furred and feathered bodies have called your branches home?
I will never forget how you once shaded me.
Rest easy, as they lay down your limbs so tired and sore,
Find a quiet resting place
As mulch in someone's garden forevermore.

Now about that power line ...
Hi Katie, What a nice eulogy poem to that tree, but it does reveal a better view of your nice new windows on your beautiful old house. We all love checking out the progress of all your projects etc.. Have a great day! Love, Aunt Val
