Rain, Rain, Go Away

I guess I spoke too soon about the speed of construction. Remember the comment to the effect of "as long as the weather holds?" Well... the weather is definitely not holding. The weather is dropping and dumping gallons of water on top.... This is all complicated by the fact that the next step involves waterproofing the foundation (i.e., a generous slathering of tar). Irony much? As it turns out, tar doesn't stick to wet surfaces. They drained our moat this morning, and planned to give it 24 hours to dry out, aiming to restart in earnest tomorrow (Wednesday). Mother Nature will have none of it. After about 1 hour of steady, drenching rain this afternoon, the only thing they'll be doing tomorrow is re-draining our moat foundation.

Oh, and did I mention that we were locked out of the house during this drenching rain?! Oops. Thankfully, it's early in the project, and Andy and I have our sense of humor intact.

so now you carry you lock picking set with you?

careful if you ever have to deal with law enforcement officers

"and why might you be carrying these?"
